Top Ten Different Songs With the Same Title: In Your Eyes (#10)

I mentioned in another discussion that the song I was referencing was not the same as a well-known song with the same title, so that gave me the idea to count down ten of my favorite songs that have the same title but are completely different. I have a couple of rules for this one. First, I have to like both songs. For that reason, you won't see "Separate Ways" on the list because, while I love the Elvis song called "Separate Ways," I can't stand Journey's song "Separate Ways." Secondly, the song titles must match exactly. "Saturday Nite" (Earth Wind and Fire), "Saturday Night" (Bay City Rollers), and "Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting)" (Elton John) are NOT the same song titles; however, "Saturday Night" (Eagles) and "Saturday Night" (Bay City Rollers) are. (That goes for all those "All Night Long," "All Nite Long," and "All Night Long (All Night)" songs. With that, here's the first coupling of songs that share a title. #10: In Your Eyes When I got Sweet Harmony, the final album by the Whitstein Brothers, I was excited to see the song "In Your Eyes" listed. "Yeah," I thought, "that could use some Whitstein harmonies!" Well, no, it turned out to not be that "In Your Eyes." It was a beautiful love song, but not the classic Peter Gabriel song. And oh, that Peter Gabriel song!!! One of his hits from the mega monster album So, it's on my 100 favorites list (the rock/pop version). What a great song. Robert Whitstein, the elder of the Whitstein Brothers, suffered a fatal heart attack in 2001, ending the career of the traditional country/bluegrass duo. Peter Gabriel is a two-time inductee in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as a member of Genesis and as a solo artist. Oddly enough post-Genesis Gabriel used to be played on alternative radio. A fine performer.

I remember "Games Without Frontiers" and "Shock the Monkey" getting alternative airplay.

I think I've turned my girlfriend into a Peter Gabriel fan with this song.
