He got hit

Philippines

I wake up this morning and been told my brother will drop to pick up the people here. So, I was planning to set up the parking lane / no parking sign when it's already there. But that's not what caught my attention, it was my dog who's outside. He kept running, didn't know when to stop specially on the road. Until a tricycle hit him, he screamed. He recovered and then continue running until he took a turn and run to where I am. What a frightening morning this is. I check him out there were no injuries, I could have gone mad with the trike driver I was mad at the driver. But my attention went immediately back to my dog while he ran in fear, but took a turn and ran back to me. I check his body, there no was sign of injuries he was probably in shock when the trike was there. Otherwise, he would have had troubled walking.

Well, you can't really blame the driver after all it's your dog that's running around on the road .. right?.. here in Australia, we're not allowed to let the dogs lose on the road or we get fined .. It's dangerous not only to the animal but also to the people who are driving ..

I didn't let him go, but somehow when I went outside he slipped through the gate, that's not happening again. @epiffanie when my grandma leaves, I'll put him back on the leash again.

@Letranknight2015 It seems that you will have to keep your door closed or the dog chained for his own safety.

@Letranknight2015 i think all the dogs tend to do that it is normal but i agree with you. You can go for a walk with him but being alone is dangerous.people are crazy and he can get hurt

Hello @sweetloveforeve For now he's doing fine, I'm now aware that the gate should be closed all the time. He will always have the tendency to sneak out.

The poor thing. Glad to hear it's not hurt. Better keep the poor dear in a leash or kennel when there is considerable traffic in your neighborhood.

@Letranknight2015 I guess it's just pure bad luck. At least all's well. Hopefully he does not get traumatized.

The crazy thing is that it was way too early in the morning and there was no traffic, but he got hit otherwise @Raine38

Glad nothing serious happened to your dog. I always wonder why some drivers don't slow down when an animal is in sight. I usually slow down or stop when I saw a dog crossing the street. Or even if they are running along side of the road.

I don't blame the driver, the dog ran towards him @rachz_kisses He has no idea when to stop running. Some street dogs learn to cross the street, mine doesn't because he doesn't roam around outside free.

Well thank goodness your dog was ok! At least it was not with a car . . . usually any critter or human is no match for a big fast running car. How scary!

That would have been a nightmare if it was a car! @much2say this is one event I couldn't afford to let it happen ever.
