Thunderstorm in October!! I’ve always been lead to believe it’s got to be hot to have thunderstorms, well it’s not been hot here in Plymouth, the UK it’s been cold. Since getting up this morning it’s been more or less none stop rain then this evening for about 2 hours we had a thunderstorm. It was just a shame it was pouring with rain outside, would have loved to have gone out with my camera and take some photos of the lightning. But anyway I loved watching, I always find it interesting the flashes of bright light, lighting up the dark sky. The photo was taken when I was in California, it was just a lightning storm with no rain :) just shame about the rain this evening.

We had very few thunderstorms this past summer. It was a disappointment.

We don't get many here either, maybe one or 2 which is yes, very disappointing, I need to move to Arizona, I think it is where they have awesome lightening storms.

No really work on the photo, just the change in the temperature to bring out the lightning more.

@Jessicalynnt Yeah, it's only one shot and the only edit is the colour of the cloud's to make the lighting stand out more. It's amazing when you take a photo like that and able to see where the lightning goes.

It hasn't been raining, or thunderstorms here. But it's finally getting cooler. I had to wear a coat and gloves for church Sunday morning.

The sky looks so good with lightning of different colors going across it but it is dangerous to.

It is not correct that it must to be hot to have a thunderstorm, we also had one last night. The thunderstorms can form if the air in the lowest layers is warm and humid, or that the upper layers are unusually cool, or oftentimes, both.
