Good thing I messaged a vet friend at the City Hall. My cat would be spayed on Nov.8 and it is free. The local government will do the activity of neutering cats and dogs in coordination with the Lion's Club. The vet friend used to be an officemate of my late brother when he headed the city's Veterinary Office. Am sad because I remembered him.He died at an early age of 46 due to aneurysm.Such a loss! But am happy also because the problem with my cat was solved! She will no longer bear unwanted kittens!

Cats can indeed multiply fast . That's why maybe a lot don't like cats as pets . Good thing that she will be spayed . At least , you will have no problem of distributing the kitten when she had them again .

@SIMPLYD yes, it is one of the positive benefits; it saves a lot of pesos using cellphone texting, because messaging is free.

It makes sense to have animals neutered or spayed, and your government obviously recognises that. So sorry about your brother.

Yes, our local government has a Veterinary Office where residents can have free anti-rabies vaccination, spaying, etc. of small and big animals. Thanks for your concern about my brother.

So sorry to hear about your brother. Can't you just give away the new kittens instead of getting your cat neutered? Just a thought.

Yes, I am giving away the four kittens, but if the mother is not neutered, later on she will have new kittens again!

@acelawrites Whoever you're giving the kittens away too, make sure they know of the program too. Kittens can become pregnant themselves at 5 months old.

I named her "Kapusa" (co-cat) from my favorite TV station "Kapuso" (one heart); sometimes I call her "Pusakal," a term for a street cat, because she is a stray cat who chose our home as hers.

That's good to hear that she will be spayed it's very important to control the pet population too many people get in over their head when they don't get their pets fixed there are a lot of programs around to help. Im glad you are going to get her done.

This is my first time to hear the word spayed and have also understood what it means. Thank you. At any rate, I have allergies with cats so I never want them to multiply.

@acelawrites Sorry to learn for the untimely demise of your brother . . He was too young to go! This spaying thing reminds me of our neighbor (jobless and lazy) who kept making his wife (working as lavandera for us and others) pregnant year after year. They got 11 kids already and yet he never stopped impregnating her. O, how I wished to see him neutered!

They should do it or else, there will be so many cats and dogs in the streets; to make people safe from rabies too.
