Your way to move...

Moving in your life can be very stressful. I know my move was. I moved from Chicago to a town in Wisconsin not too far over the border. Thankfully, fully intact and with the spoiled kitten in my life. Though she is almost 3 years old now, so I am not sure if she still qualifies as a kitty. Spoiled yes, kitty – maybe not so much. Anyway, I know for me, I have moved twice in a year. The first move was very much planned, everything labeled and double checked for the move. The second time, not so much so I lost a few things along the way. A small price to pay to get out of a bad situation. Both moves however, were very stressful, not only on me, Caramel as well. (For those of you who do not know, Caramel is the spoiled kitty.) I found that packing Caramel’s pet dog, yes she has a pet dog – he is stuffed and barks when you push on his tummy – anyway, packing her pet dog and her blanket she often lays on in her carrier helped her a great deal. I was surprised at how well she adapted to both moves and now loves her space in the new apartment we are currently in. I also found the first move, making sure that everything was packed and labeled made my life much easier than the second move of pack and dash. It was easier to unpack and organize when it was all labeled. Currently, even after moving in 3 months ago, I am still in boxes and slowly getting back to my online work. So life has been a bit crazy you could say. My questions to you, and I believe you will find my answers above in my write up, how do you prepare to move? Are you a grab and go, or do you label and throw out things? If you have pets, how best do you work with them during the move? Thanks for stopping by, Aingeal

You get plenty of boxes ahead of time and start packing. Don't wait to put away those dishes until two days prior to the actual move.

Yes, moving can be very stressful. Thankfully, I'm quite settled at this stage of my life but thinking back, I don't even know anymore how I could handle moving across continents a few times - although with no pets, there were four little boys with us...
