Lied to borrow money.

Yesterday, one of my neighbors have asked to borrow some money. The reason is because her mother was hospitalized stroke.
But then I found out that she had lied. Her mother was well, and she only borrowed money to attend the wedding of her grandson.
Why would she do that? I think that should not be taken for health reasons of relatives to borrow money.
Do you think so?

She knew if she told the truth you wouldn't let her borrow.

pretending a family member is seriously ill is a terrible excuse. i hope you follow her up so she can pay you, but don't let her borrow money from you again. tell her you have important expenses coming up.

i 'll loan to my friend who need help, and if he can return back ontime. your neighbor ask you for some money just to attend the wedding.perhelps she did not want to let you know the renson. maybe she thought her reason would be more simple.but her monther would be unhappy if she know the joke.

She might be trapped in certain situation, and therefore she borrowed some money from you eventhough she had to make a lie. But I think she shouldn't use that reason for borrowing money from you.
So what happened then after you found out her mother was actually well?

I still not meet her from she borrowed me. But I feel not good. Maybe I will not ask her an explaining about the reason. I think that is her thinking. I just feel it's not good if we lied about health of our relatives to borrow money.

Yes, I'm thinking about that. I must say that she borrowed me many times before. The reasons is about her mother health, too. I don't believe that why a person can do like that with their mom :(
