I've received comment on my writing that there are grammatical errors. . I've been asking my friends from long and they're honest with their comments. It has been kind of the same negative comment from so long that I've got grammar errors on my writings. I've been reading a bit more lately. I have no clue what to do. Need your guidance!

Do you mean you want people to point out where you're going a bit wrong? Like in this discussion?

Yes. I appreciate when I'm being told exactly what's my flaw and how can I correct it as well..

@RitzzView ok here's my re-write on this post. first line I'd say comments rather than comment. Rather than saying friends from long say either old friends or friends from long ago...or maybe even better say I've received comments from good friends. "It has been kind of the same negative comment from so long that I've got grammar errors on my writings." I'd say " I've received the same kind of negative comments for so long and they've all said I have grammatical errors in my writing"...on my writing isn't write in this context. BUT...on a site like this your English is 100% understandable so I see no problems whatsoever as I get what you're saying and that's the most important thing. Plus I'm no grammar expert I can only advise on what sounds right to me as an English person.

@Mike197602 I like this comment so much...thank you..:) I'm not exactly looking for comments on all of my writings..but I love to write fiction or stuffs like that. So I want comments like this on those. But I really appreciate your efforts..thanks :) And yes..you're right, here on my lot, understanding is given more importance.

Hi! Your post here is understandable. It is good that your friends give you an honest opinion. I think it would help if you watch youtube videos about grammar or read a grammar book. I suggest you try Grammarly too. It is free. It helps me in writing here as well.

@RitzzView I am also learning how to write. Since I will be in a holiday for a few more days, I think I am going to have enough time to write another article in my blog. Do not worry about your grammar. It will develop as time goes by.

@RitzzView Grammarly actually teaches you, in a way. I kept making the same mistakes but I learned not to make them any more just because I had to correct them so many times.

Wow! You gave me 3 good suggestions. thanks! I didn't mention in my post, but I am not looking for grammatical corrections for here. But I am interested in writing, I've been experimenting with my writing skills.. With few fictions, poems and stuffs. I also share it with my friends..that how I got to know about my grammatical errors. But I was sad when I changed my reading routine, and still it was the same comment. And..I've never tried the YouTube grammar learning's.. Let me try that. The grammar book is there at my home, as soon as I get back home, I'm gonna go through it. And Grammarly was suggested by @akalinus also here.. And I did try that.. Its wow!

I want you just to read more and also to try writing a journal every day so that you can make your grammar better gradually. The reason behind all this is that you can't improve grammar in a single day so you have to work every day.

@RitzzView Just write whatever you feel at the time or write about your day or anything else. The thing which matters is that it will help you in general.

Yes, grammar and writing is something to learn gradually with hard work and patience. I know. Okay. I'm determined with reading more. But I didn't understand the journal part.. What should I write? Are you trying to say that reading and writing should go along and that's why I should write journal?

Do you have Word? I found Word very helpful with my writing as it shows me the grammar errors, particularly the comma ones. It also points out passive sentences. If you have Word, write it there first and then copy and paste it on here.

@RitzzView,I am an Indian and commit some grammatical mistakes.I don't bother, because English is not my mother tongue. However I read books and try to correct my English.

Being Indian and knowing Indian phrases thorough affects adversely to our English writings. Seems like a literal translation sometimes, which is not a correct phrase. I've made this mistake once in one of my poem.
