Tackling the Big Jobs

This is how I felt after I was done

I decided that I was going to clean my laundry room, top to bottom. The biggest job was moving the washer and the dryer so I could clean underneath. I have been meaning to do this for a while since I knew I had dropped several things behind the machines and wanted to retrieve them. I did find two pairs of socks and a blouse that has been missing for a while. I also found change, spilled detergent and lots of dust and lint. Also, a box of dryer sheets that had changed color so had to be tossed. The hardest part of the job was reconnecting the dryer vent. One of these days I will learn to pay attention when I take things apart lol. I still need to wash the curtains and the window but I am feeling a lot better about the room. 1 down 9 to go!!! The photo is my dog Honey and she looks how I felt when I was done!!

@BelleStarr Just be easy though in your cleaning . Rest if you feel tired then go on once you are okay again. That's what my daughter who is a doctor now told me , because she knows how i can be an OC sometimes .

That's a big job and I need to do it too. I will get my husband and son to do the heavy moving. It's scary how much lint lives under there..

It is scary, it had been a few years since I moved these appliances, the laundry room is a tight fit so it wasn't easy.

@BelleStarr A friend of mine in Kansas had a house fire started under the dryer. Scared me enough to clean under that machines..

You found quite a lot behind the machines. I would say that's exhausted by the look of your dog.

My husband hates when I move stuff to clean, as I never pay attention to how it was so I can put it back properly. Hey, I figure that is his contribution!

You can buy 'appliance rollers' that are not expensive, they are meant for moving big items but they are very handy to be able to move things easily in day-to-day life. I put a pair under our chest freezer as the only place it would fit was under the stairs, where the lid of course could not be opened, but with the rollers we could easily roll it out, open the lid to get what we wanted then roll it back again. Makes it very easy to clean behind heavy equipment.

I do have the little discs that you put under the legs to move furniture but it slid rather easily on the tile floor.
