I Never Knew...

I was outside on my balcony the other day and saw something that caught my attention. In the tree right beside our balcony, I saw something that was bright yellow and black.
It was a bird and at first, I thought it might be an Oriole, even though it looked a lot like a cardinal. So, I went inside and googled it and found out that there is such a thing as a yellow cardinal.
I had no clue, have never heard of one before. It was really beautiful with it's bright colors, just as bright as the red cardinals.
I haven't seen it since that morning even though I look for it every day. At least I had the pleasure of seeing it once. Have you ever seen a yellow cardinal or knew that they existed?

No, I didn't realize that cardinals were any other colour except for red.
The yellow one is so handsome.
I find cardinals quite comical to watch, if we leave a car outside, we have a cardinal that will perch himself on the car door so that he can look at himself in the side view mirror.
And he's so cute to watch doing that!

@simone10 It was so funny to watch, and that little cardinal would be so serious as he looked at himself in the sideview mirror. And of course that little car was black, and birds have a tendency to make a mess pretty easily.......that part was funny to me too!

I have been watching to see if I would see it again but haven't been that lucky. My brother said there are several around our apartments. I didn't read to see where they winter at and where they nest in the spring but I will now.

Nope never had the pleasure to meet one. I don't even know if they are in Europe. Today I saw a bunch of small birds with fat bellies and white and black heads hoping in our trees. Now I think all song birds have already flown so I don't know what these birds are and if they are going to stay the winter.
