A question about Christmas gifts

Christmas gifts

In the past I thought the Christmas gifts were usually something expensive. But according to what I learned from some movies, I realized that the Christmas gifts don't have to be something expensive. They are fine to be something practical. Is that true?

The most important thing for a gift is just that it shows you care.

It depends on each person. I have never given expensive presents to anyone. And now that I´m a widow, my only presents to the grown ups are jams and relishes prepared by me and placed in recycled jars.

@Happy2BeMe Every year, my friends start looking at the green apricots to guess if they will be ready for Christmas jam. My tree has never failed me.

A Christmas gift can be also a very little inexpensive thing, the important is that it is donated with love and it shows that it's something you bought for a reason.

I feel like Christmas gifts should be something nice, they can be hand made, cheap, perhaps something that makes someone laugh, it can be practical but they don't have to be. People normally give food, like cans of popcorn of some meat and cheese, or a tin of cookies. otheres give clothing, or something the person wanted. It doesn't have to be expensive at all. It is the thought that counts.

I think the clothing will be nice since they will be useful. The food is OK but they are gone after eating

@youless Well the point of holiday gifts is to celebrate joy and spending time with family and just loving being together. So food is good so you do not pile up everything in your home haha

It's the thought that counts and something that would be of great use is a plus but I don't mind recieving ecpensive gifts

@youless you will recieve expensive gifts from a person if you have business with them and it earns them money, one day of giving something nice and expensive is nothing compared to one year doing nice dealings

Hi my friend! I am actually thinking of what gifts to give to my family. I am thinking of something they can use and they will like. I agree with you. Gifts should not be expensive. Anyway, I think it is the thought that counts when we give gifts and not the cost of it, right?

Most families have their own traditions as far as what type of gifts are given. All way from name brand fancy stuff to small and inexpensive ones.

Yes, that's true. Gifts don't have to be expensive. It's the thought that really counts, not the material thing you have given.

Absolutely. Although I think most kids would rather have something fun than something practical.

Yes. That's true. One Christmas I gave one of my sons a coffee mug that had an art painting on it. It wasn't expensive at all. He loved it! I was surprised!

A Christmas gift is a heartily given gift. Bought with good thoughts and care and should not be expensive.

Yes, that is true . We should think of gifts that the recipient will be surely using , not after seeing it , would keep it or even give it as a gift to others too.
