My man said that I could not just go cold turkey getting off soda like I did before. When I got off pepsi it just about killed me. Migraine after migraine. When I got off coffee the same thing happened to me. Well Sunday I was going to have a can of rootbeer. he bought me a big bottle last night. I woke up to a migraine this morning. I decided on a glass of soda. The migraine is easing off now. I want no more soda for a week though.

@hereandthere I have two (quite large) cups of freshly brewed ground coffee every day. First one at about 7:30am and another at about 10:30 am. After that it's water or tea. Last time I drank a fizzy drink was on holiday back in March!!!

Do it gradually. It will be a lot easier on your body.

That's rough that your body reacts like that when going thru changes. Good luck with keeping off of the pop.

@sharon6345 So, if you just sip a little small bit to take the edge off when you get these migraines, won't you eventually stop getting them because you have less of the pop in your system? When I quit smoking I didn't go thru that-I ate instead, which wasn't the best choice......

I get migraine when I don't drink soda, the other way round. Soda can cause so much illness, don't know what they put into coke these days.

Maybe you should take a pill with caffeine in it instead of coffee or sodas with caffeine AND sugar.

I don't know what that would be.

It's not always easy to change some habits. Hopefully you can avoid drinking soda and not have a migraine.
