New Place In Town

United States
November 3, 2016 10:34am CST
It's the same place, but different owners and new name. Since we've lived in this area the restaurant in town was: . originally closed . it became the Blueberry Pig . the silent partner took over from the Pig and changed to new managers who named it Rocky Top Cafe . it closed for a few weeks and reopened Nov 1st with brand new owners and it's a family business now and is called Heavenly Cafe and BBQ. The female owner was originally a server for a while and then became manager of Rocky Top....she is a hard worker and I think she will do well. They haven't changed much - the menu is pretty much they same. The one big difference is that they are now open for breakfast at 7 am. The breakfast menu means I have a new place to get pancakes any time of day!! Photo is mine. The sign is inside, they just got it and it needs to be hung out front. Again the photo isn't right....this is the only site I've put photos and they are sideways. Maybe @GoAskAlice can tell me why?

it is too bad they the name change so many times. Most places when sold will keep the new name depending what it is. It almost like starting over?

In this case they want to start over. Many people didn't like the old place so a new name will let them know it's different.

Hopefully this time around the place stays open! I don't have trouble with photos! Hopefully it gets fixed.

@AbbyGreenhill It would be nice to have a reliable spot! I do see Dianne's posts where she writes her pictures may be side wife's and it could be her iPad having problems but I wonder if it's myLot as well?

I never had a problem until Windows 10. And this is the only place it happens. Yes, I hope the new owners make a go of it....out here in the boonies it's nice to have a place to depend on.

It never happened before, are you using Windows 10 now? I wonder if there is something wrong with the resize of the pictures.

@AbbyGreenhill What is strange it's the fact that it never happened before. I have to search to see if I can find a reason.

Yes I'm using Win 10. But this only happens here. The photo from the other day I had to download from Facebook and then it took it here right way. I have not changed the setting on my camera so the photo sizing should not be any different....plus it only happens here.

As far as the photo is concerned did you flip your camera to the side at all to get the image in the viewing area? That will change how it appears. Also, when people use a smartphone or other device to take images there is a default orientation that any image will always revert to. When uploading it will show wuth that default setting. The way to find out is to use a photo editor and upload the image to that. If it shows up on it's side there, they you know that's the reason why. You'd need to turn it around and save it to a new name on your computer or device to then upload it here. After reading your comments maybe that wasn't the problem after all. But you did say you got it to work later on, was it a different picture that turned out correctly here?

This happened since I started using Win 10. I take photos just as I have for many years and they always were fine. Now I have to sorta do a back-door approach to get them to be right side up. Now that I've done it a few times its easy. Once downloaded I have to re-file them and hen they are fine. No adjustments or sizing or anything.

@AbbyGreenhill So you have an extra step each time? You download them to your computer and then give it a new file name after copying it and then it works? You could edit your photo here so we could see it properly without turning our heads.

It's strange how some photos print any which way but up so to speak. Some of mine in the slideshows are sideways too.

That is odd. I take it this was not it's orientation before you uploaded it?

There are a couple of businesses in our town , like the one you mention above, that has changed owners many times.

@AbbyGreenhill I understand that. That is how it is here in my town.

The problem in our little town and let me emphasize little...the people are poor and they prefer to pay for a McDs meal which costs less than what a burger/fried/drink would cost in a restaurant. Therefore, the places can't stay in business. While we eat there once a week that can't sustain them LOL
