Microsoft Scam

I got the scam twice now today. The first time I was able to use my tablet to keep interacting with you all. However, this last time, I found a low battery on the tablet, so it's recharging. Watched two episodes of M.A.S.H. and hope the problem is history and I won't see it anymore tonight.
I want to get caught up and get some work done on my book. I'm currently working on today's notifications, so that's a good thing. If I see that scam again though, I'll just need to come back tomorrow and hope everything has righted itself in the Internet world by then.
Have you had some unexpected problems today? I probably asked that on the other post, so sorry if you've already answered that question. It's just so annoying.

@just4him It rather took over my computer and I had to go to task manager to get it off my screen!!

I haven't had any problems today but it does happen from time to time. Hope tomorrow so a better day.

@tammys85 Yes, they redirect and basically make it impossible to do anything with the computer until you shut it down and reboot. So far I've had no problems again yesterday or so far today, though today is still early, I'm going to claim no problems today either.

No problems for me (I don't have Microsoft) but I have been seeing a lot of people having trouble with Microsoft lately!

It was a scam. Microsoft itself had nothing to do with it. A warning comes up on my computer telling me my computer has been blocked, which it wasn't, and that I would need to call a number to get it taken care of. It's a scam and it happened twice yesterday among all the other redirecting screens I was getting.

Microsoft comes up with a message saying your computer has been blocked. In order to get it off your computer you need to do the CTRL, Alt, delete and shut down. It's a scam. There's usually nothing wrong with the computer. There will be a phone number for you to call so somebody can hijack all your info while telling you you have a huge problem with your computer. The problem begins when you make that call. Don't do it. Just shut down and power back up and you'll be fine until the next time. I had it happen twice yesterday. It's all good today. I've had no popups or scams coming my way.

@MarymargII Because that's what it says when it comes up. They pass themselves off as Microsoft to make you believe you have something wrong with your computer and you need to take care of it right away.

@just4him Oh Lordy- I have had that happen in the past- yes- they hijacked my computer and my husband had to get it off! Why do you call it the MICROSOFT scam?

Thanks for sharing it so we will be alarmed. I hope no more to scam you for they will never prosper. here in NZ I noticed so many scammer and spam messages. Sometimes I wonder my lap top sounds so loud cannot find the source, only to see a video playing inviting me to see their business how to become rich in a New Zealand way, my goodness.

A scam is when someone tries to make you do something that is shady for the sake of taking your money and leaving you with nothing to show for it.

Haven't had any problems .Hope you won't anymore too. M.A.S.H was very enjoyable when it aired here long time ago. Good to revisit.
