Home From My MRI

That was an adventure. The taxi got here a bit early. Got there and the paperwork said they might give me an injection. Ah, no you will not be doing that. They didn't need to, thank goodness. So, they put me on the gurney, and back me into this thing. It makes all kinds of weird noises and it lasted forever. About two thirds of the way through it I started to freak. It was vibrating and it made my arm hurt so badly I couldn't handle it. I made myself calm down and in a few seconds the technician tells me there is only about three more minutes. I counted ......and counted.....and counted. Finally I was done. I hope I never have to have another one of those. I haven't had this one before. It must have been something else I had and I have forgotten the name. The one I had before was like a half donut and I laid inside the hole of the donut. Anyway, all done. Now I wait for the doctor to call and I go see him. Then, finally, I should know how the arm is actually doing after waiting all of this time.

I'm glad it's done and over with-that does not sound like fun at all. Sorry you had to go through it. I hope your arm is healing the way it should.

Oh, I do too. I hope I can just have some exercises to do and it will heal on its own. I read that it takes about three months for a shoulder to heal.

I have had several MRIs, but fortunately for me I am quite comfortable with them. I must agree that the variety of sounds seems quite bizarre.

@celticeagle I had a work colleague who was seriously horrified with the MRI tunnel. I am very pleased that I never had such a phobia.

It was a bit snug for my liking but I endured. The sounds reminded me of that new electronic music.

The half donut you speak of must have been a CAT scan. Let us know what the results show.

I recall the 'scan' part of it. I was thinking it was the MRI but was off. Yes, after I see the orthopedic surgeon I will post about what he says.

I almost didn't last the time needed to complete it. It is better than the closed one but not by much.

I turn it just right and it hurts horribly. Just the first month and have a couple more before it is healed.

I just don't like to be in close quarters for any reason. There are some bathrooms I can't be in.
