Ok I need some help here I am wanting to try and start making these scarves I want to make on my own and need some help here getting started. Here is my area where I need help I have to make chains to start it out and it has to be 6 inches so how many chains would that be? I hope I am wording this right so you can understand what I am trying to say.I figure if I knew how many to chain to start the project out I would be able to start making these scarves and get them done. So any help from those pro crocheters would be appreciated. I was wrong on part of it if you can view this and help me out I would appreciate it. I feel silly just went and looked and I totally forgot you use the whole skein in this scarf so just do my slip-knot and finger crochet away til the end of the skein and bind off and snip off excess and done you have a pretty scarf.

My suggestion is to just start a chain. Make, say, twenty loops and then count how many inches these are. Then you can find out how many loops you need to get the width you want to have for your scarf. I hope this helps. I've always done it like this when I knitted something.

@ChesneyM Yeah I am looking at some found one but it did not explain good enough. Going to have to look for another one on what I am making maybe it will be better.I am only a beginner so that is why I have a lot of trouble with things but once I get going I am good. I can only single and double crochet right now would like to learn other patterns as well eventually .
