Day 65 Proverbs 12:21 Proverbs 12:21 There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief. 22 Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight. What are the things you dislike most? Lying would be among the top things people hate. It causes division, loss of friendship, and distrust. What about pranks? Some look on pranks as harmless, but they can be harmful, even fatal. Anything that can tear a friendship or relationship apart is deemed bad and nobody likes to have bad things happen to them or their loved ones. God has a list of things he hates, and Solomon set them down. Proverbs 6:16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that devises wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaks lies, and he that sows discord among brethren. From little on parents teach their children right from wrong. They want their children to respect each other and their elders. When their children act in an unbecoming manner they bring shame to the family. As Christians, we are instructed to treat others as we would want to be treated. That means we would not lie to anyone or be mean in any manner that would divide and bring shame not only to our families, but to God. People look at how Christians behave themselves. They are quick to point out when their actions do not line up with what they know or heard a Christian should act. Have you examined your life lately? Have you looked in the mirror of God’s Word to determine if you are acting as a Christian should, or is there room for improvement? Like it or not, there is always room for improvement. We are not perfect, just because we call ourselves Christians. My favorite saying is God is not done with me yet. Another saying I ran into some time ago was God’s construction zone. Consider what God hates and what he delights in and purpose in your heart to make some changes so you will be able to say God delights in you. Let’s pray: Father, help me be your delight. Let me know when my words and actions do not line up with how I should conduct myself. Help me be an example to others as I do my best to live according to your Word. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. I said Amen to the prayer. What a happy thing it would be to be the delight of God.

I for one am so thankful that He knows me, and that I am a work in progress that will not be perfect until I stand before Him.

If we would do a daily self examination every day of our actions and words, and quit looking at others and judging them while the beam is in our eye, it would be a better world. I try to live as close to God and how His word teaches me to live, but I fail. I will always have areas that I am weak in and I trust Him to prune those things away and replace them with what He would have me to be. Good post. Have a blessed day.

I agree. We do need to do a daily examination and prune away those bad things in our lives. I hope your day was also blessed.

This is an eye-opener for all of us here. It makes me reflect now on what kind of individual I am. I am not perfect and I do not have the right other religions as well. May I grow older according to the will of God for me. May you be blessed more Valerie!
