But Thursday is a new day and the sun is shining, so what the H?

We leftist Democrats will do all we can to thwart the more bizarre proposals put forth by our strange President--elect, but in the meantime, the sun is shining in Oregon, there are birds to feed and walks to take. Anne made a fantastic breakfast of an asparagus-mushroom-cheese omelet with hashbrowns and toast this morning. Obama and Trump met this morning for the first time ever, no shots were fired and no one got strangled, so far, so good. I am swearing off news for at least the rest of the day, at least! Our Rockstar Iris is blooming in November

@JamesHxstatic - I'm going miss him. Our Congressman Doug Lamborn, once boycotted an Obama State of the Union speech. Obama's reply? Gave the guy a lift here on Air Force One during the Waldo Canyon fire. Pure class.

@anniepa Do not feel so bad, I know how deceiving it is when someone you do not appreciate will lead your country. We can only hope that he would not cause damages.

I'm really glad to see that there are leftist Democrats in the US of A. The majority of Germans feel with you. If we had had the opportunity of voting, Clinton would have won.

True, but I hope those who can continue to PEACEFULLY protest. We can't let the RWNJs forget that we're still here and we're actually in the majority. They'll be able to run roughshod over us since they have the White House and both chambers of Congress but we can't go down without a fight.

Yes. He is not president for life. At the moment, he's not even president. I despise Trump and all he stands for, but it's more important that the country prospers.

@anniepa i prefer to think it is "on hold" or "pause." This election is an aberration and wound to democracy, but not a fatal blow. He may not even last four years. His own party could get sick of his ignorance of the way things work.

@JamesHxstatic If he didn't last four years that would be a good news/bad news situation since we'd be left with Pence, the most wacky right-winger ever to hold a national office.

I think that whatever the result of an election we have to have hope that the new team will do the best for their country and for the rest of the world. I think it's a good idea to turn off the news for a few days following this result.

Yet, their "best" is not what over half the voters think is best for the country. We are an extremely divided nation, worse than many others.

Your flower is beautiful. I did chuckle to see another Democrat commenting on politics and think my family may not forgive me for a long time for voting 3rd party. Wish that party had reached 5% and yes usually I do vote Democrat guess its to much sun in Southern California. I'm from Oregon and miss the greenery. Go Ducks

At least the west coast was all blue, so your vote did not help Trump as many of those in swing states gave him the election. Oregon had a beautiful sunrise today and it is cloudy and will rain.

I watched pretty much no news on Wednesday and Thursday and very little on Friday. I don't feel any better. To me, the sun will never come out again, I know now where the heart of this country is and it's not with me or any other woman and girl and it's sure not with any other group other than entitled white men. The suffering and destruction that's coming will be felt by most of us whether we're the ones who caused it or not.
