The Right to Protest

The right to protest is an important part of our Constitution. We will need to protest when our rights are threatened. The right wing cannot just steam roll all their policies. Mitch McConnell fought hard against Obama during during the eight years. The Democrats must do the same. Minorities will not fare well under Trump. People with disabilities will not fare well under Trump. Ethnic groups will not fare well under Trump. The list goes on and on. Protests must not be restricted to the internet and social media. We will have to connect with our Senators and Representatives. Silence is not an option.

And a proper businessman knows how to run a company efficiently and thoroughly, so that everyone works together to bring it home. He took a stance to get it started, and now that he's in I wouldn't doubt that he will work together with both parties to make the country run smoothly again. And you know what? One of the reasons he has value is that he has worked with both sides in the past and will probably do so into the future. Working together is the outcome I want. Do you want to work together in this country or be so stuck on your opinion that you refuse to reach for something better? I for one wouldn't be surprised if he adds some democrats to his team.

I've looked at his proposals and the GOP's proposals. They would bankrupt our country. They would enrich the wealthy. They would be extremely harmful to the environment. They would decimate healthcare protections, and the list goes on. The democrats must work together to stop what the Republicans have plans now that they have the majority in all levels of government.

@zebra2222 Sad, to say might be the people who are the only ones that can stop them. These guys have free rein to do what ever their corrupt heart desires with no one blocking them. It will be interesting how they use this power. One way of putting it, I, myself, find it straight scary and welcome to the land of truly only rich people and poor people. They will get rid of that middle just yet.

@zebra2222 What would you do that's fair for everyone? Do you yourself have plans that would work and that you would want to see happen, or are you forever going to lean on others to do it? Will Trump's proposals add the 9 trillion dollars to the National debt that Obama added, or will it be lower? The environment will be helped in other ways, and he doesn't really need to be on the forefront of that. The healthcare system is broken and needs to be redone. Explain to me the 'enriching the wealthy part', because I only see tax breaks that let them keep more of what they earn. And just to note, I think everyone, regardless of what they make a year, should pay the same percentage. And I think it should be a really low number. Why? Because it gives unlimited growth potential. @crossbones27 Oddly Hillary was on a path to get rid of the middle class. It's already on the fringe of existence anyway. Why are the corporations the enemy anyway? Aren't they the ones providing jobs to the people?

I hope I am wrong. Please let me be wrong. I fear that the peaceful protests will be ignored and folks will take to being heard or else in a violent manner.

But it is bad to protest. That is what they keep telling me. It makes you look like a thug. Just saying, people are telling me this.
