First I want to say happy Veterans day to all the brave men and, women, who served this great country we call home, it's the land of the free and, today, we remember that freedom came with a price, many soldiers did not come home and, millions more came home never to be the same again, wait that's memorial day, but either way thank you all for your service. Veterans day started out as Armistice day, celebrating the end of world war 1, the war was ended on the 11th hour, of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918, it was changed to veterans day in 1954, to celebrate everyone who served, not just the soldiers from world war 1, in closing I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free and, I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me and, I proudly stand up next to them and, defend her still today, because there ain't no doubt I love this land. God bless the USA, courtesy of Lee Greenwood.

I didn't know it was the 11th hour of the 11th day. I only knew it was on this day. I don't even think I knew the year either. I love that song, and I will always be proud to be an American and to have served in the Armed Forces of the United States of America. Yes, God bless the USA.

Great post! Thank you. I have been watching stuff about the vets all day. Great stories. One about a vet that is now 108 years of age. Some one asked him how he was doing and he replied: " I felt better when I was 103!"
