I have a friend who is an avid traveler and have been to many places all by herself. Her husband refuse to tag along simply because of air travel phobia. She met and made many new friends sharing her interest in traveling. Now she and her new traveling buddies travel together everywhere. And this has the blessing of her husband who graciously foot all her traveling expenses.

@swissheart Not at all. Husband is homely type while my friend is a happy go lucky woman. I don't know where she gets all her energy as she seems to be traveling every month with her camera taking pictures of all the interesting places she visits. She is a good photographer as well.

I respect it but the fact is that I don't like traveling on my own. isn't normal as long as we're a couple

How your man could be like you? Every individual has a distinct personality and their desires and motivation level are different. We always wish that other one should be like us but it is not the case.
Nonetheless, you could discuss your desires for going on vacation with him and could convince him that change is spice of life and if you both go for an excursion trip, it would be a good change for you.

I'm convinced that if he did this once he would start to enjoy it but as long as he never went abroad...

@swissheart Ask him that it would be a lot fun and meaningful if he was there with you. He might give in

My sisters husband is the same way. He hates planes and feels uncomfortable out of the country.Luckily he doesnt mind short road trips othereise they would never go anywhere. Have you tried to talk to him about it? Not totally sure that would help but is worth a try.
