Ken Rosenthal reports the news on Monday the Baltimore Orioles are interested in signing current free agent catcher Nick Hundley, 33, to a contract before the start of the 2017 Major League Baseball season. Hundley has played in the Major Leagues since 2008 with the San Diego Padres (2008-2014), Baltimore Orioles (2014) and Colorado Rockies (2015-present). Hundley became a free agent at the end of the 2016 Major League Baseball season when his contract with the Rockies expired. The Orioles currently have on their roster catchers Matt Wieters, Francisco Pena and Caleb Joseph according to Rotoworld.com Since Hundley is a free agent his chances of joining the Orioles are good since many of the other teams in the Major Leagues have Hundley as plan B compared to the Orioles who are on their top priority list to join them in 2017.

I think Wieters is a free agent so the O's are preparing if he leaves.

That could be the case since the Orioles are in desperate need for a catcher.
