I Just Donated to the Election Recount

Did you know that several computer scientists and cyber security people believe that it is possible that the election machines in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania were hacked? Not all of the machines, but just enough to throw the election to Trump. This is frightening. No matter who you voted for, it is terrible to consider that someone could hack the machines and change the votes. These are not complaints from ordinary people ... these are cyber security experts who believe this is what happened. The computer experts who noticed there were anomalies in the count went to the Clinton campaign and told her they would like to audit the election results. Only a candidate can request a recount. However, before she could request one, Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate, requested a recount instead. She is doing this, I believe, to help Hillary Clinton avoid the embarrassment of asking for a recount and then discovering that there was nothing wrong with the machines. I just donated to the recount at the Jill2016 recount website. I have been watching since I did that and money is pouring in. Thank goodness for Jill Stein. I really appreciate what she is doing! No matter how this turns out, it will be reassuring to at least know for sure, one way or the other, that the vote tally is correct.

It would be awful to think that Trump hasn't been elected fairly.

@JudyEv - I agree that it would be very sad to discover too late that Trump had been illegally made president. I'm glad they are checking on this.

I know if it was me, I would not want to be elected by fraud. Everyone would say you were not the real President. It is already bad enough Trump is losing the popular vote by so much. That would irk me alone, but the rules are the rules and power hungry mongrols like him usually do not care how they win as long as they win.

@crossbones27 - I agree with what you said completely. He is a power hungry mongrol and does not care that the majority of voters actually voted for someone else.

@sugartoes - I'm sorry this news is making you so unhappy. You seem to have trouble understanding that nearly 70,000,000 Americans have a different opinion than you do.

@Marty1 Apparently not, just find it sad that this country not only accepts that, but also admires that about him.

Free country that promotes free elections and democracy has corrupted ones? Now that is really non-unbelievable!

@DeborahDiane I can see the need for independent observers here!

@Bluedoll - Absolutely. I am willing to accept the election results, as long as I feel confident that they are accurate. Independent observers are an important part of that.

@Bluedoll - Pretty shocking that our election process is corrupted, right? Ha Ha!

@DeborahDiane I am so sure that Mark Twain was true when he declared "If voting made a difference, they wouldn't let us do it. " They let us vote, but finally they elect what THEY decided to elect.

@LadyDuck - I agree that there seems to be something fishy about the election. I am so glad they have raised enough money to do a recount!

They need about $2.5 million to file in all three states; then another couple of million for lawyers and another couple of million for independent observers. They have already raised enough for the filing fees, so they are well on their way!

I've been following that on the news. We have a right to know if there has been any tampering. My son, who is an attorney, works as Senior Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. He has been and continues to be trained in cyber security for his firm, which has offices all over the world. He told us that we wouldn't believe what is going on in cyberspace. So I wouldn't be surprised if there was tampering at the polls.

@DianneN - Ironically, even Trump agrees that votes could have been tampered with. However, he is sure that all the tampering went towards suppressing his votes, not Clinton's! LOL

Not if it was wrong. Hillary is ahead on the popular vote by nearly 2 million. If the Electoral votes are wrong, Trump should not be Pres.

@JamesHxstatic - I agree that if the count turns out to be wrong, then Trump should not be president. I think the public needs to know for sure, one way or the other.

@jstory07 - Even if it turns out Trump is the true winner, we absolutely need to make sure that our election equipment cannot be hacked. At the very least, we need to know that.

Is there even the slightest chance that Clinton will be declared the rightful winner?

@MALUSE - My best guess is that there is less than a 1% chance that the election results will be changed. However, if they find that there are a number of voting machines that were producing inaccurate results, just knowing that could create havoc in this country. If we cannot trust the voting machines, then that is a serious problem! Mainly, I just want to know, with certainty, that the results are accurate.

@DeborahDiane I agree with you but from what I've read, she already gave ti to Trump. In a perfect world if they could prove she earned it she would get it.

@PainsOnSlate - Seriously, I doubt they will find enough errors to flip the election. However, I think it benefits both sides to be absolutely certain the election is correct.

@PainsOnSlate - I'm not holding my breath, either. Chances are that Trump will remain in office. However, I think we still deserve to know that the machines actually worked properly. If they didn't ... then we deserve to have the situation corrected.

we don't have machines here. We either vote by post or vote in person and the votes are hand counted. To have an impact on the government there would need to be a lot of untrustworthy ballot counters. If it is right that there was an error it needs to be sorted out.

@Mike197602 - I agree that, if there has been an error, it needs to be corrected. We need to know if our voting machines actually work correctly, or we will never be able to trust election results.

@fishtiger58 - I'm glad they are doing the recount. No matter how it turns out, people need to be confident that the election process is accurate. If it is not, they need to be confident that it can be corrected.
