Applied for an associate lead

I emailed and sent my resume in for a higher position. I am waiting to hear back and see if I get it. My friend had put her notice in so I am hoping I get her position.It is $0.50 cents more an hour. But the fact they cut my hours, and give it to the assistant manager sister.
