TV you can't control...

My dad was flipping TV channels on Thanksgiving with my nieces in the room, and settled on "Back to the Future". The kids of course were not happy that it was an actual movie that did not contain cartoon characters or Muppets, but that was not the only issue. The younger one (6) noted with a slight air of annoyance that it was "TV you can't control". They are so used to picking out their shows from Netflix, DVR, or on-demand. I then regaled them with tales from the olden days when you couldn't control TV AT ALL...then my dad took them back a step further to when there were only THREE CHANNELS (truth be told, I remember that, too! lol). Then I pointed out that before then there was NO TV. I'm surprised they didn't run screaming from the room. I'm not entirely sure they believed us. It is amazing though, how far technology has come in such a relatively short time, isn't it?

Yeah, I'm sure they're like ... "what are you talking about?"

LOL yes, actually I think they thought we were making this up. Oh and also they were totally absorbed in watching the commercials. They don't see a lot of those.

I agree remember the days of no television went to a friends to see television. It was good when there was three channels, as something to see. I feel spoiled with a lot of channels and its funny when I tell my husband there is nothing to watch now.

No matter how many channels we have, there is still usually nothing good on!

Children have no idea how spoiled they are. Truthfully, I don't know if I understand at 35 I'm quite spoiled as well!
