SCARY FUTURE?

I doubt that I shall be happy with or be able to adjust easily to some of the technological advances and other changes which will inevitably occur in the future. For example: I imagine looking upwards and seeing cars racing overhead, I would be really worried one might fall on my head. Jobs, robots taking over our jobs -- hard being displaced by a metallic beetle. Instead of migrating to another country people may decide to float off to Mars. Smart homes may become much too smart, I can see myself forgetting which buttons to press. I think combat gear will be the preferred attire, it will be needed - but I can't say why. Of course, some of us -myself included - may not be around when most of these changes take place.

When I was a teenager of 16. I was also scared of future due to overthinking as i hardly had some good friends. what I can suggest you to keep yourself busy in positive activities and start living in present. you never have seen future. As i said i was also afraid that computer will take away all the jobs from humans, robots will also take away our jobs, aliens will attack us... but see where we are today. I am still alive at age of 40. Enjoy the moment. people waste most of time in thinking 90 % of their time in worrying for things for events which can affect their life just 1%. or have probability of just few % Everyone has some kind of worries but simple solution is to face everything from front.

It never makes sense to worry too much, but it pays to be alert and aware of possibilities.

@Kandae11 Yes alertness is essential. But in case of accessive worries (I was also a victim one time, and wasted lot of my life's time thinking for things where i didnt had any controll) I am telling you, this is best time we are living in. just imagine life 100 years back too difficult it was

I never get scared of future tech changes but only the money. That's what always concerns me.

What do you mean by concern about the money.

@Kandae11 Probably the cost it will involve?

@Kandae11 rising cost of things as future goes ahead. what you bought in 1999 won't be easy to buy in 2029

A lot of that is already taking place. There are robots doing jobs in all kinds of industries. There are smart houses. However, floating off to Mars might take a while to accomplish, but I think we're getting close to flying cars.

I think we already have those which you don't need to steer with your hands on the wheel.

@Kandae11 Which would you dislike most? Wearing a hat or getting hit by a falling car?

@UncleJoe Some women take dangerous risks all in the name of fashion, but if I had to choose I think I would prefer to keep my head.

I am not scared...actually, I want to be a tourist to some planet other than earth. I don't mind. Space travel in my life time...how cool is that?

People will still be working. Without consumers that can spend there would be massive unemployment. Floating to Mars might be a touch difficult. Perhaps hitching for a ride might be better.

Unless technology advances in a super fast pace like nowadays, we shouldn't be scared. But if we continue with this uncontrolled speed, then God help us

You are making imagination about things, which may happen after 40-50 years from now, at that time, we may not be alive.

I am excited for the future. Change is good for the world and advancing in the world is amazing! Some of these things will not happen even in the youngest generation's time but some of them can. It is fascinating and being open to it is better than being afraid. even though...Being afraid of the flying cars is totally reasonable. Since we still have to fear of bird droppings in the air. haha!
@Kandae11 (36962)

Haha, bird droppings won't do much damage - except to one's pride.

That is true . But i am not scared , in fact , i am excited . Though , just like you , i might be not around anymore too when these things happens . Good though , because even Windows 9 , i don't want it for my laptop. So complicated for me .
