Favorite "Time of Day" Songs #3 - "Midnight in Tokyo"

There are more songs with the time of day in the title than you might think. Case in point: we are at #3 in my Favorite "Time of Day" Songs series, "Midnight in Tokyo" by Y&T. Led by vocalist and guitarist Dave Meniketti, Y&T formed as Yesterday & Tomorrow in Oakland, California in 1972, and, after a hiatus and a few lineup changes, are still going strong, although they are primarily known as an 80's metal (no, not hair metal) band. (You might remember their hit "Summertime Girls.) From their 1983 album, Mean Streak, "Midnight in Tokyo" was a single, a "major hit," according to Wikipedia. Unfortunately, I have no idea how major, as I am unable to find any evidence of chart action whatsoever. I did hear it on the radio a lot, however. Wikipedia again: the song was written after a concert in Tokyo. (Fun Wikipedia Fact: Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich claims that he was influenced to get into the music business after seeing Y&T in concert.)

Metal had a bad period also. At least got a little carried away and sloppy by some. I really enjoy songs like this.

@teamfreak16 Indeed, and was watching a video of Mike Ness call all of them out and especially Poison. Was funny because people were calling him a snob and getting all butt hurt about it.

@crossbones27 - If Mike Ness says it, it must be true. That guy pulls no punches.

Yeah, this sounds good after Gordon Lightfoot, too. (I'm waiting for the punch line, that your #1 song is "High Noon" by Tex Ritter. )

It seems like there are certain times of day that crop up in songs. The midnight hour, late in the evening, the break of day.

There are quite a few. I even had to make some cuts.
