Enjoying The Fire

I just love this picture of Daisy. Lately, it has been pretty chilly in our apartment so my brother usually has a fire going at night during the week and during the day on the weekend. While he is lighting the fire and putting on the logs, Daisy is right there by his side. She is so inquisitive and has to be in the middle of everything. My brother gets a little agitated sometimes but I can't help but giggle to myself because she looks so cute. Over the weekend, we had a nice little fire going and Daisy jumped out of my lap and found her a spot by the fire. As you can see, her favorite way to lay is with her back legs out behind her...lol. Do you think she is enjoying the fire?

She was relaxed and stayed there for quite a while until something caught her attention and then off she went.

@rebelann Oh yes, they really are. Especially when they are young. I have had a lot of puppies over the years but when we first got Daisy, she wore me out. I was beginning to question getting her. But, I stuck it out and now she is the sweetest thing. I am so happy that we got her.

She looks like she's enjoying the fire. We finally had a successful fire in our fireplace last week. Our dog Fifi wouldn't even enter the room....she hid on our bed the entire time.

Is Fifi afraid of the fire? Hopefully she is better with the fire now.

@Morleyhunt We use a Duraflame log to help start out fires. It makes it very easy.

@simone10 with the time we had getting a good fire going, I don't expect to light the fireplace too often.

She is funny, I suspect the carpeting is warmed up by the fire, so she loves to place her belly on the floor.

@simone10 This is the same reason why cats love to stay in front of the fireplace.

@LadyDuck I don't blame them, I love it too. If I knew I could get up again, I would lay down in front of the fire to keep warm. But, I know I would never get back up...lol.

Yes, the fire does warm the carpet a little. Where she was laying, you can really feel the heat of the fire.

We love our fireplace! I can't imagine being without it now. So far Bella hasn't enjoyed the fire like Daisy does. I'm sure Daisy would welcome your company by the fire

They look so funny when they lie like this but it seems to be common among dachshunds especially. What a lovely looking fire.

Daisy certainly looks content in this photo! We have had the fireplace on a few times this season. Hope it stays warm enough that we do not have to bother.

Our weather has been so wishy washy lately that we can use the fireplace one day and not need it at all the next.

That's an adorable picture of Daisy. We haven't had an open fire for years, but there's nothing quite like them.

Lol...I'm sure there aren't many if any apartments in Florida that have a fireplace. And you are just running it in about it being 88 degrees there. I would love to move somewhere warmer but my brother can't with his job and he loves the cold.

She sounds like she is one smart pup, letting your husband know when to light a fire. Daisy also likes to help my brother with the process which aggravates him while I sit and giggle.

Lol! She certainly is enjoying that fire, and looks so cute doing so! We had a dog that did that. We called it his frog position. Doodles is spending his last moments with us by the fireplace right now, listening to opera, of course.

She does that everytime my brother makes a fire. I have a little portable heater that I use near my desk when I am on the computer and she will stay in front of it also.

She seems to really enjoy it. This kind of picture makes me want to re-open a chimney in my house. There are several but the ducts have been closed in the past.
