A Little Packing Today For Nothing Well, we were going to head to Florida for Christmas but it has all fallen through. We are on winter storm alert and it could turn into a blizzard! We are getting two arrival times, but not sure which one to believe. All I know is that isn't here yet, but once it does arrived, the snow just keeps coming and coming. One of our worries was that we would arrive home at the end of December and couldn't pull into the driveway. It's about a 5 minute walk and I doubt that anyone would to excited about wading through who knows how much snow just to get to the snow blower. It seems that our first Christmas in Manitoba will be spent... right here!!

So sorry to hear that. It is hard to travel this time of year and there is almost guaranteed to be a storm sometime over the holidays.

We have pretty well driven through everything on our trips down and back. Maybe staying here was just meant to be!!

Oh no. Sorry to hear that, my friend. Better safe than sorry .. and snowbound. My dad always drives to Florida around this time of the month until March.

That's how we are looking at it. After the initial disappointment, it is on to rethink things. :) If we are all together, what more can you as for!

Oh dear. Are you staying because of the possible problems when you get back or is it too dangerous to leave?

A little of both and then there is the long drive that will now be an extra day that none of us liked! Everything happens for a reason!

Yeah it is difficult to determine how to do, if you couldn’t pull into the driveway and have to walk wading through the worst road, what a mass!

Now that we see what has already built up... walking to the house wouldn't have been fun in the least.

Sadly it wasn't and staying longer isn't an option anyway. A new family moves into our house starting on the 28th. We had originally planned until staying until the new year, but when someone wants to give you money to stay in your house lol... you hand them the keys. We are already thinking about going down next summer! Very few people seem to rent n the summer, so it shouldn't be an issue! And actually summer in Florida is awesome anyway. You can walk straight into the pool!! No shivering!!
