I need molasses

I keep a fairly well stocked pantry, but I wanted to make a recipe I saw for gingerbread oatmeal. Of course, I seem to have everything on hand except for oatmeal. Well, I need a couple of other pantry staples.but I do have everything else for this dish..well it will have to wait for a store trip I guess..nothing quite tastes like molasses..so no easy substitute I can think of. Have you gotten already to make something and realize you don't have one of the ingredients?
