My fiance has been bugging me to make him some cookies so I decided I would make him some oatmeal cookies. It has been a while since I made cookies. They are in the oven now and he is anxiously waiting for them to be done.

I love oatmeal cookies. And they are not hard to make. Besides, they are the healthiest cookies you can make.

I like oatmeal cookies, especially if there are raisins in them. I can no longer stand for any length of time without pain so I don't make cookies anymore. In fact, I am passing my family recipes for Christmas cookies--special ones I've never seen made by anyone outside my family--to my daughter in law so she can continue the tradition. There's not many things better than fresh cookies make from scratch!

That is great that you are passing on the recipe. I regret never getting any of my mom's recipes.

That is a nice way to eat oatmeal considering that one is expected to make porridge and eat it every day for maintaining good health.

I've not made cookies in a very long time, like years. I did buy some easy to bake cookies recently the type that is sold in the refrigerator section and are is already sectioned out. While waiting for supper to be done tonight, it was very difficult for me not to make those. I'm trying to stay away from sugar somewhat and my husband doesn't need to eat them either. I'll probably make them when he's not around and freeze some so I don't eat them too quickly. If he doesn't know it would be fine as he buys cookies on a regular basis anyway and doesn't share them with me. But, I shouldn't have purchased it as I certainly don't need them either. I've gotten good at not picking up bags of candy, or so far anyway. I should have known better for the cookies too. But you guys go ahead and enjoy yours.

@Happy2BeMe I like sweets of all kinds and know from experience that for most once they're in the house I'll finish them fairly quickly. Then, I'm usually good for a period of time. I do have Halloween candy still around, but those are Twizzlers that were individually wrapped. Not as easy to eat as most things loose in bags. Every time I buy anything sweet, I give myself a virtual spanking for I know how I am with them. That's why I'm hoping I can eliminate sweets from my diet completely. I don't know whether I'll not eat any processed foods at all, but I'd watch the carb content at least. Even giving up cookies and candy and anything with huge sugar content I was able to eliminate the sugar addiction that I think most of us have had since we were young.

@MarshaMusselman You are doing great then. It is not an easy thing to do when you crave sugary sweets but if you don't buy them then there is not temptation.
