An Unexpected Invitation

Before 12 noon today , December 08 , we , the Management Committee members were invited to a free lunch to a posh restaurant near the airport .
All the ManCom members of each affiliates , were there to partake of the birthday blowout of the owner of all the affiliate companies we are employed in.
It was actually a last minute decision of the big boss since he is here because he will be one of those who will welcome President Duterte who will be coming in a few hours after lunch for a press conference .
When a small cake was placed on the table with just one candle , he laughed out loud because he said he felt like a kid blowing the candle , and gamely blew the lone candle .
It was a very, very filling kind of lunch , i think i will not be hungry until dinner tonight .
How generous the owner of the affiliate companies we are employed ! He does this to us yearly .
No wonder , he is so blessed and loved by everyone of his employees .

@louievill We can stay two hours around a lunch, but we prefer to tell jokes while eating here. I really dislike to have to wait more than 1/4 hour for a first dish, and many people leave a restaurant if they are not served after 30 mn or have to wait too much between dishes. I waited once an hour because they had forgotten me in a restaurant, and they offered me the lunch

@topffer when the order arrives it's enough to drown you lol.
Filipinos want to chat bond, tell stories before eating. Funny but the Filipino way of hinting that you are hungry is through joking, you say right out loud you are hungry " gutom na ko" or funnier is to point at another person and tell every one that that person wants to eat already.

@tammys85 Of course . And i am sure when he sees the employees eataing all that was ordered for his birthday . It's just that we of course , would eat with finesse when he is there , but not when he is already gone where everyone will have no shame eating voraciously .

It is always nice to treat your employees well. That way they will work better rather than with resentment.

When December started i have been attending parties . Now , my tummy is again protruding , i am having a problem of how i can at least flatten it for the 16th office party .

Yes . For the Management Committees that comprises the department heads and supervisors together with the manager , we went to that restaurant . For the staff , each office bought foods for the snacks of all the rank and files , in the after noon .

What a generous thing for him to do. It is nice to work for people like that who take the time to include you in stuff like that. Sounds like you all had a great time.
