Rather than roommate or me driving hubby to work we chose to ask a friend that was headed his way anyway to drive him in. Toward 7 I pulled out my old down jacket from the closet and prayed it would fit good enough. I haven't fit into that cozy jacket in a long, long time. I managed to get it zipped without busting the zipper.
What a relief. It was about 5 above out there even though there was a cheery sunrise. Friend showed up and I clumped back down the frozen driveway road to the warm house. I'd taken a cane for stability, just in case.
Now I've just been out caring for Peter burro and the hens and wow it feels great to be smaller enough to get into that jacket. There is a north breeze blowing that keeps the chill way down. Yah hoo!! for down jackets.

I have a coat that was my uncles, thankfully my aunt gave it to me, my texas coats would NOT be good enough for a MO winter

@celticeagle I currently am losing about a pound each week. Last month I would not have been able to wiggle into this jacket.

Yes indeed, yay for down jackets! And fitting into them! It's furry flight jacket weather again for me too. And as for my quilted vest, which I wore for a while when it was warmer? Nezumi has commandeered that for her bed. She loves the flannel l ining.
