Why do some do selfies again and again?

Most have seen discussions about some doing selfies several times each week. Or, each day. What is this about? Although thoughts have been written about such ones who do this being a narcissist, is that really the case? Not being an expert on selfies or narcissism, it is thought by me one photo update yearly is enough. Just my opinion. The photo here is of a dog who is also a camera hog/selfie fanatic. Do you get tired of seeing the selfies change so often?

I see it on Facebook. I don't mind if it's occasionally . . . but oh, I have friends who do at least one or more selfies day and that I don't care to see. And then there are the poses and dumb facial expressions - onlookers can only take so much of this. I have a friend who must be going through a mid life crisis . . . she has to put on several different accessories and change her make up to do at least a handful of selfies per day. But quite honestly they all look very similar to me - I would never tell her that though. .

The friends who change their photo daily are the ones who are most amusing. What are they thinking?

@PatZAnthony I think they need reassurance from others . . . they need the "likes" and compliments in the comments to make them feel good - I guess.

Some people on my friends list post about 10 new selfies of themselves every day. It drives me nuts.

I know someone that does that. She posts pictures of herself daily but not full body pics because she don't feel good about her body because she is on the chunky side but a pretty girl.

I have a friend that is a man and he changes his picture every day on facebook. I figure he must be stuck on himself.

Maybe. Some we know really are, and snap a photo of themselves daily to post somewhere.

I'd much rather see selfies of pets, if that's possible. I see a few too many on Facebook, and find it pathetic and narcissistic. You'll never find me taking selfies and posting them. Anywhere!

It can be a little annoying, especially when it is several times a week and provocative photos. What are they thinking?

@PatZAnthony I was thinking of one girl in particular. She posts several a day of herself. She has a cute little figure, great hair, but a shnoz that can poke you in the eye! Lol! At least she thinks she's a hottie. I guess it's good that her self esteem is high.

I am not one of them people that take a ton of selfies but when I do I want a picture that I like especially if it is one of me.

Every now and then I will take a selfie, not often though. I mostly take pictures of my children. I do have to say though the other day I saw a picture of me when I was younger and I was glad I took the photo. It was cool looking back and seeing how I have changed through the years. =)

Nothing wrong with pet selfies, Im sure they'd appreciate it. But of course, my dog takes time before he can stay still and have him photographed.

I love the photo of this dog, but I cannot say that I like to see plenty of selfies of the same person. As you say, I think that once a year is enough.

I get tired of a lot of things. Mostly people who lie, so selfies are something I can ignore, lies I can't.

I can't say that I really even notice them, oddly enough.

I'm not on FB so don't see the interminable selfies that others talk about. I can't imagine why people do this. They must all be better looking than me. I've just changed my avatar. I hope you don't think I'm narcisstic!

I don't mind selfies of the dog...he's pretty cute. For myself I can't understand the fascination of selfies. I am way too busy to indulge me like that! I barely look in the mirror...and that's just to neaten myself up. Guess it's a culture thing.
