TOO YOUNG TO DIE.

I have been noticing a gradual increase in the number of young people on the obituaries pages. Even though I am aware that death can visit anyone at anytime - whether young or old, it still is disconcerting to see so many younger folk dying too soon. It is the natural order of things that children should bury their parents - not the other way around. Now we see the elderly living longer and burying their children. Could lifestyle be one of the reasons for the early demise of the young? What do you think?

@Kandae11 I've also seen about a few cases of bullying that caused kids to go over the edge. Are you talking about kids or adults here?

I think the issue is that kids -- and this certainly isn't "new" -- feel immortal or invincible. The problem is there are more things to kill kids these days...sadly, including other kids.

there also seem to be more pressure these days from their own peers.

Well, younger people do take more chances than older people do - and as you say, they feel invincible.

Yes, definitely lifestyle is the cause of many deadly diseases like cancer and heart attacks! Much of the food we eat is not food at all.

@1hopefulman and @Kandae11 . Chemicals, pesticides, hormones, steroids and antibiotics in the foods are definitely the #1 cause in my book. Autism increased from 1 in 188,000 to 1 in 88. More cases of ADHD and ADD. Our foods (unless Organic) are the problem. Do you know the difference between an Organic Egg and others that have all the above listed in them? The color of the yoke. If the yoke is Orange, it is Organic. If it is pale Yellow, it is full of poisons.

Lifestyle diseases do play a part, but I think hereditary illnesses play an even bigger part.

@nanette64 The problem is organic foods may be expensive to produce. What do you think?

Yes, that is true . Here , there instances of one dying of a heart attack at the age of 21 . I think , t's the eating of too much fastfoods , fried chicken , burger , fries and sodas . People have grown bigger and obese as i would always see ata fastfoods . No wonder the age for dying young has gotten young .

There should be government sponsored programs on the benefits of healthy eating.

Yes as we can see the lifestyle is the one of the biggest factor why a lot of young people die.First bad habit including over drunk, chain smoker, eating non-healthy foods like instant food. Or even the technologies are involve with this. If you try to throw back fr the people live in the past, they at the age of 80's 90's or even 100 they can reach. is because the living is very natural, unlike now.

That and the youth, most youth do not have the wealth that the older generations aquired. Not saying it is rigged but think the youth sees the older generation did not exactly secure this world so they could thrive. So many are acting in a a day by day senario. Maybe just a theory, it could also do with bad teaching and patenting also do to the older generations did not secure the world in a sustaible way.

I wonder if it's statistically true, or if you've encountered an anomaly.

I don't know about worldwide, but I have observed it in the Caribbean. Of course some early deaths could be attributed to anomalies at birth.

It is heartbreaking indeed, moreso if the circumstances are tragic.
