Having Too Much Fun to Stop By, But I Will!

I didn't forget you!
We had a quick flight to Florida, but had lots to do to open the condo, get the battery connected to our car, and get our cable company to turn on our house phones, TVs, and internet, dust, and unpack the few things we brought.
We went out to dinner at our usual first night in Florida place with my brother, who picked us up from the airport. He has been here since Monday and is flying home today.
The following day we went out to breakfast, since we had nothing to eat in the condo. We also went grocery shopping. Our nephew flew in from NYC and his girlfriend from Los Angeles. My brother whipped up a great dinner for us all.
Yesterday we shopped for more food at Costco, swept, vacuumed, and washed the lanai, did a big cleanup, and had my brother, his son, and girlfriend over for nibbles and drinks, before heading out to our favorite restaurant. We then went out for ice cream sundaes.
And to top these last three days off, we have seen Orville, the osprey, who still lives! He sings to us each morning with his sweet voice, and flew to our lanai to show us a fish he had caught. Love that boy!
Tomorrow we will drive our nephew and his girlfriend to the airport, then continue shopping for other necessities. It's been a whirlwind, but I promise to stop by to see all my dear MyLot friends while wearing my shorts, tee, and flip flops!

@paigea I understand. Orville is the same osprey. He is the only one who sits on our palm frond and chirps. He also is the only osprey who comes to my window or lanai to show me his catch of the day. And, he is the only osprey who sings as he fishes. The rest are his offspring. He did introduce me to his mate a few times, too. Lol!

That is quite a tough thing for you to work on but notifications means earnings and so you should welcome them.

Thanks. I've been busy preparing for Florida. Now that we are here, we have been busy getting the condo into shape. My brother was here, so we spent a lot of time with him. He flew home this afternoon, and we are dropping his son and his girlfriend off at the airport tomorrow. I feel almost as busy as you are! Lol!

Sounds like you all had a wonderful time together. Do you go to Florida for the winter? We have friends that go every winter to Florida matter of fact they are there now til April or May.

@DianneN This is our friends second winter there just bought a place there last year. They slept in a camper trailer in their sons yard. Yeah it is hard to get things done you know needs done with so much going on looks like a very nice place from your picture.

@Tina30219 I'm glad they found a place of their own. We had to gut this place when we bought it. It was disgusting. We bought it for the view of the water. My sister in law is in my building and my brother bought a condo in the same development in another building very close by.

We had a blast, but it was difficult to open the condo, clean, shop, and all that with so much going on at once. This is our 4th winter down here. We decided to buy after a huge blizzard. We used to vacation in different parts of Florida for years. I believe you mentioned that your friends are here last time we "talked" - and I don't blame them.

Don't try and rub it in that we are here in the freezing cold while you can run around in shorts and flip flops

@DianneN Here in Northern California, we have an actual Winter. It's mild, and I make it my goal to wear shorts at least one day of every month of the year. But on an "average" Winter day here, the high is about 56 and the low is about 42. I pulled those numbers out of my arze (the correct spelling is a bad word! Go MyLot!), but my hunch is that they're close.

You probably left just in time with the huge winter storm system that is hitting a lot of northern states right now. We're in the middle of it right now, and you know I'm happy about that.
I'm so glad you arrived safe and got everything taken care of and saw Orville. Be sure to stop long enough to take a breath before heading out here there and everywhere.

@just4him Thank you! My brother helped him change a light in a high cabinet. My husband just can't reach high either. He lifted his tool bag to place on a shelf, but dropped it. I put that heavy thing back, carried out our furniture to the lanai, hung things on the wall, and carried in heavy bags of groceries. Today he begins therapy in West Palm Beach.

I heard about those storms. I still think you are crazy for loving the snow so much! Lol!
We took it easy yesterday, except for a goodbye visit from my brother. Today we will drive my nephew and his girlfriend to the airport and go shopping. My hubby is back to doing his antique shopping. I'm glad he can drive the car down here, but he can't pick up anything heavy.

@spaceseed I've been there several times. The only changes I've noticed were new restaurants opening and some fading away forever.

Yes I was in San Fransisco California for brief period of 3 months long back, say around 8 years. I wonder how much changes have occurred since than.
