Ok question for you all. What do you prefer when it comes to Christmas trees artificial or real? The reason for me asking is my boyfriend and me was talking about it recently and he said he almost prefers real to artificial and the reason being is he feels you don't have to mess with the branches as much to get it to look the way you want it. What is everyones take on this?

I agree I like the smell of a real tree I think that is why I am burning a scent right now that smells like a Christmas tree I love it. We have a dog and 3 cats all outdoor cats dog stays inside but he is never in our livingroom.

I like the smell, too, I remember it from childhood. My dad always had bayberry candles at Christmas but I can't find any these days. They were wonderful and piney but with an extra something that I loved.

I like real as well. No Christmas is definitely not artificial. I don't look at it that way with a artificial tree at all. I have to have a tree even if I don't have kids I like to enjoy it it just don't seem like Christmas without one.

real trees die and need replacing and shed pines over the carpets - though nicer they are harder to maintain - I tend to prefer artificial

I agree real trees just die and need more work than an artificial. I will stick with artificial.

I dont like wasting a real tree (unless I get one in a pot I can plant later), real is more of a fire hazard, harder to clean up, and messy. I will stick with a reusable fake one

I agree real ones are messy and you have to keep them watered or they will not make it til Christmaz. I like the smell of real one

True. I think they have this spray you can use to spray on your tree that makes it smell like a real tree.

@Tina30219 I do like the smell, but I can put up a few small branches and get that, without cutting down a tree

I have artificial even thought I'd love a real tree but it's just too much work for me.

Right real ones can be a lot of work. I like having artificial less work.

I prefer fake trees personally. Less mess and maintenance which for us works better with 4 kids I have enough mess to clean each day! Lol.

Right for someone that has kids and other things going on in their lives fake is way to go.
