First jam party with my new Martin D-18 today!

My friend Kathy is throwing a "jam party" today. It's a party where everyone brings libations and a musical instrument, and we jam the afternoon away. Protocol is to go around the circle, with each person choosing a "jam friendly" (three or four chords) song that everyone else can join in on. Today's' will be the first jam for my new D-18. I bought it because it has nice tone, good intonation, and is LOUDER than my other guitars, which tend to get lost in the mix. It also records well, but I bought it mostly for unamplified jams, like today's. Wish us luck!

I can't play anymore--I never played well anyhow--but jam parties are the best! I used to throw one every so often for my friends, it was mostly electrics. One time someone brought a pedal steel guitar and that was amazing!! Martins are great but I found a sweet Fender for my first guitar. Unfortunately, I sold that but I've had many more. My favorite is the one I still have, saving it for my granddaughter, a '71 reissue Strat. I hope you have big fun at your jam!!

Friends of mine and my boyftiends have a jam party every summer in August and a whole bunch of people will plag guitar and sing. It is a nice time had by all and can't forget all the yummy food and jello shots.

Pedal steels are cool! And hard to play. I've tried.

It was a great time. I brought Kathy one of my little trees, which I do every year when she has a pre-Christmas jam.

It was big happy fun! A highlight for me was weaving this song into the mix. It was easy to do because the song only has three chords!
The Grateful Dead at Buffalo Memorial Auditorium, on May 9, 1977 ? "If you get confused listen to the music play..."

@TheHorse Buffalo Memorial Auditorium (The Aud) has been gone for many years. The new venue was originally called HSBC Center, but changes names regularly.

Oh, I'm pretty la-ti-da when it comes to guitars. I've had two Santa Cruz guitars, but didn't like the necks. So I sold them. My gigging guitar is a Collings, which is a really good Company out of Austin Texas. I had a D-16 years ago but it wasn't that loud. This thing projects well.
