Good afternoon.Yes,to me that today feels like Sunday. Ever had those type of days feeling? After we got back from our to trip to Mine and then had lunch of Egg plant and cheese sandwich for lunch. I was planning to make an apple pie to kick off my holiday spirit. I have been using Granny apples for the filling as I like the tart. With the left over crust. Was fooling around and surely hate to throw it out. Nothing fancy as I just braided it and put it around the edge there. Not sure if you can see it.Did you ever use extra crust for something? I do not make my own crust.Pillsbury is fine with me. Will have a piece of this tonight. Yes,today feels like Sunday The photo is mine.My apple pie. enjoy the video of apple pie. Some will not like it. Apple Pie by the White Trash around in the nineties.
Fun facts about this video: Was produced for a mere $3500 by director Evan Stone and producer Cindi Conti. Was one of the first to be featured on, and had he...

Interesting. I just made two pumpkin pies yesterday. That is one thing that I appreciate about the cooler weather. I don't mind heating up the oven to bake pies. With the leftover crust. I shape it into small thin strips and put a small pat of butter in the middle and then sprinkle on cinnamon and sugar and bake until done. My mother taught me that little idea years ago. I don't know how nutritious these little baked tidbits are but they taste good.

Mom used to use the extra crust for us kids. She'd roll it out into a circle or if there was enough she would use a cookie cutter to make pie crust cookies. She'd spread it with butter and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and bake it till it was done then we would get to eat it!

@Butchcass4 Yes, nothing went to waste in our household! If a human couldn't eat it, the dog did. Old clothes were remade or repurposed, even old worn out brooms were used for other things. We did not know we were poor, we just thought we were so lucky our Mom made us little treats like pie crust cookies!

I never tasted apple pie but it looks great! And the song was nice as well. Today it felt like it was Sunday too, simply because I've been home, I usually go out. However I'm at home with a tiny fever and I didn't plan to make it worse.

@amadeo I get in the mood once in awhile to bake, but my husband also cooks. Truth be told he does most of the cooking. I did bake him an upsidedown pineapple cake today for his birthday. Now, that I resist the temptation and don't eat any of it as I'm trying with God's help to lose another 25 pounds, ugh and its the holidays. and I love my goodies (sugar). O my I think I'm in trouble LOL!

@amadeo Good decision! Apple cake is my favourite cake. Yet, in Germany, you'll usually find crumble on top of it.
