School of great sadness.

People put in a lot of effort to produce what are considered to be Christmas scenes and decorations and nowhere gets more lavishly decorated than a primary school. The strange thing that strikes me is that I can't recall ever having a Christmas tree or even one strand of tinsel in any of my schools. I'm beginning to wonder if maybe I was always sick for all of December when I was at school.

I remember making stained glass windows around the Christmas/Hanukkah season. Now I teach that to the kids I work with.

I don't actually remember Christmas decorations either although I'm sure there were. I think we might have made some paper chains once.

Is it possible you have erased schoolday Christmases from your memory due to some traumatic encounter with Father Christmas or Rudolph?! ;)
