I read a very funny news via the net. An Asian who was born in New Zealand. He took a passport photo but it was denied because of his small eyes. It showed that his eyes were close when he had the photo taken. Oh... Actually his eyes were open but just small You can judge it from the attached photo to see whether his eyes are really that small

Millions of Asians would be denied if this sort of standard would be applied

So what do Asians with small eyes do then to satisfy the passport examiners?

They explain that to a human being : the photos are scanned and it is a computer that tells if something is wrong.

In fact Asians also have different kinds of eyes, some are big and some are small. They just need to update their stupid machine

We were not given 2 index fingers for nothing, better put it into good use in this situation as a sign of protest.

Yeah, I heard of this story. You can see that his eyes are opened, just small. But I can also understand that it may seem as though his eyes are closed.

@youless Yes, it does make mistakes. It's the way they function sometimes, unfortunately.

Do not laugh : last time they told me that my head was too small on the photo. Finally, it has been easier to solve that what I was thinking : if you take the photo closer, the head looks bigger. It is more difficult for eyes.

I think the Northern Chinese are likely to have such kind of eyes, but in the South China we have bigger eyes.

Perhaps to the camera his eyes are not complete but he can actually close his lips and smile at the same time. Now that is amazing.

Discrimination by a machine... it really seems to be a sad joke. The machine has to be configurated for all possible circumstances.
