N is for Nativity, Noel, North Pole, Nutcracker, Nutmeg N is for Nativity. It's hard to think about Christmas without the main characters - Mary, Joseph, the wise men, shepherds, sheep, cows, and of course Jesus. All these when put in it's setting - the stable - is called the Nativity. Many people have a Nativity in one form or another on display at Christmas. N is for Noel, a favorite song sung every Christmas. Noel comes from the French and means birthday. Christmas is the day we celebrate Jesus' birthday, so it's fitting we sing the Christmas Carol - Noel. N is for North Pole, the place where Santa and his elves are known to make all the toys good little boys and girls receive on Christmas day. It is also the place where Santa's sleigh is and where he flies from with his reindeer every Christmas Eve. N is for Nutcracker. One of the most famous decorations is the Nutcracker found hanging around the tree or mantle at Christmas time. A ballet was done about the Nutcracker, called The Nutcracker and the Mouse King on Sunday, December 18, 1892 at the Marinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg, Russia with the score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. N is for Nutmeg often found in the popular drink - eggnog, at this time of year. I hope I have not left any N words out, but be sure to let me know if your favorite Christmas N word is missing. Thanks for reading. Image - mine
