As promised to a friend . . . I give you my string of Christmas Cards received from all over the GLOBE, across the oceans, with camel transportation, by hand but delivered to my home just in time for the festive Season.
DID YOU KNOW:
The first Christmas cards were commissioned by Sir Henry Cole and illustrated by John Callcott Horsley in London on 1 May 1843. The central picture whould show three generations of a family raising a toast to the card's recipient: on either side were scenes of charity, with food and clothing being given to the poor.
Christmas Greeting Cards have come a long way, and I am pleased to say that this year delivered many more than the last.
Can you see yours?
