The Sound Of Music

I'm watching this on TV right now, and it brings back a lot of memories. It was one of my mom's favorite movies, so we usually watched it every year on TV. Plus we got to listen to the soundtrack a lot growing up. Then in....I think 5th grade...we put on a show at school where we had to sing many of the songs from the movie. (I should mention that I went to Catholic school, it makes the story a little more amusing, since Maria was a nun who ultimately left the convent. 
). My mom loved this, as it gave her a reason to play the soundtrack repeatedly. 
She passed away almost six years ago, and I think this is the first time I've been able to watch it since then.
Any other Sound of Music fans?

I'm so sorry for the loss of your mom.
I never saw The Sound of Music until after a vacation in Austria. Our tour guide pointed our every location in which the film was shot. As soon as we got home, we watched it and recognized every place we visited. It was so cool.

Thank you. That is really cool that you recognized the places you saw in real life. :) I'd like to go to Austria, it's on my list for when I do another Europe tour someday.

Sound of Music is one of my favorites! That and Sweeney Todd taught me how to sing. I am still terrible at singing but I think I've gotten a little better over the years haha

That is sad to hear about your mother.
It must have taken a great strength on your part to watch it without your mother..isn't it?
