~This Season Magnifies Feelings and Thoughts~

If you are feeling happy and joyous-this season magnifies those great feelings for you. If you are feeling down and depressed this season also magnifies those feelings. We all need to remember everyone is going through something hard. Some worse than others. No problems, no matter how small are easy-especially around Christmas time. Some of us have loved ones that are no longer with us, some of us have financial problems, some of us have loved ones behind bars, some of us have no family to spend the holidays with, some of us are one paycheck away from losing everything, some of us are caring for sick or elderly family, some have kids leaving the nest soon and going off to college so it will be the last year with them home for Christmas, some have major health problems, etc... We are ALL going through something. I'm just saying remember that we are all going through things and that makes this season really tough for some. For anyone going through something hard this Christmas, I am praying for you. I might not know what it is but God does.

It is also hard to focus on others when you are going through your own pain. I know that if I helped others it would make me feel a bit better, but it won't fix the problems are are going on in my life, just take me away from them for a moment or two. For the most part I am trying to keep my sanity during the holidays. A friend of mine was in a car accident and will be off work for awhile. It is unfortunate for her, but fortunate for me. I have gone and visited her (she usually doesn't have time) and benefited greatly from our visit. I will visit her again this week, even if it takes away from time spent preparing for Christmas and/or working on myself (daily exercise). I believe we both benefited from my last visit. I don't know where my life is headed and am trying to have faith that God will work things out as the control is out of my hands. I appreciate all prayers.

@Happy2BeMe God brought my husband and I together. I strongly believe that because we were apart from each other, out of touch, for awhile when he returned into my life. I do not believe God wants the marriage to end. The difficult part is praying for years and still waiting.

@patgalca When we are having hard times ourselves it does become harder to focus on others. I understand, I'm also trying to keep my sanity because my life feels pretty crazy right now. I'm trying to take things one day at a time and pray a LOT. I'm glad your friend had time to visit with you and it sounds like it was a good thing. =) I will absolutely keep you in my prayers.

You just have to hold on to that faith and see what God has planned for you. All the best to you.

Some people don't have it easy this time of year. You are so right. Such a good person, thinking of others that might have it tough.

Although I am filled with such great spirit this time of year, my heart is heavy at times. The heaviness is often triggered with some of the wonderful music of the season. Or a movie. Or a commercial. Or a special ornament placed on the tree.

We don't have much to celebrate. We lost someone very precious to us at the end of November. It was sudden and unexpected. We lost others this year also.

This was so beautifully written Jennifer! Thank you for sharing. I am one of the ones who is going through a difficult time right now. I won't go into details, but God knows what has been weighing heavy on my heart lately. I just pray for His strength and wisdom to guide me through a tough time. And don't get me wrong...I'm very joyous for this holiday season (on the outside), but on the inside I have a troublesome heart that needs healing, along with some guidance on the future direction of my life.

It is easy to get smothered in our own woes sometimes but there is always someone even worse off.

@Judyev Yes there are others worse off than ourselves but we all need time to feel sad now and then too, especially when it's been one thing after another. We should all want to help each other through.

@LovingMyBabies That's very true. Our own troubles are no less important to us despite others being worse off.

Thanks for the words. I might be someone who goes through hard times but they´re needed. What´s life without the ups and downs anyway

@quantum2020 Your welcome. Sometimes hard times are needed to teach us something important, but there not always easy to go through even if they are needed. Without hard times we wouldn't appreciate the good times-I get that, some of us just go through more hard times than others-that's the most difficult thing I think.

Those lucky people will enjoy the season for sure a lot but those who have a hard life will feel more depressed. But just enjoy Christmas celebration to ease somehow their pain and misery.

Yes we're all going through something. It should remind us to always be kind. I used to feel those amplifiers during the season but the last few years have taught me how to control my mind and emotions a lot better now.

I always pray for the people who might not have any Merry Christmas. This year I have many blessings to count but I am somehow too nostalgic and everything is getting to me.

@RasmaSandra Yeah, not everyone has it easy this time of year and we should all think about that. I hope things get better for you as well.

That was beautiful. I loved this a lot. Not everyone can be happy this holiday season, some people get a lot worse in their depression and such. The best we can do is show a smile and that we do care and listen to the people who are not so holly jolly this season. Thank you!

My holidays are a happy time but I am struggling with changes and missing loved ones as are so many other people are. I will make the most of my holiday and be happy for what I do have and who I will be spending it with.
