Do you get any extra time off work for the holidays?

Friday is my last day and then I am off until January 3rd. I am looking forward to my 10 days off. Our company closes between Christmas and New Years. We all save some of our vacations days so that we can do that. It is a nice little break at such a busy time of year. So do you get any time off over the holidays?

When I taught, we had two weeks off for the Christmas holidays. However, teachers here really do not get summers off due to having to tutor, teach summer school and attend committee meetings. But, the two weeks off at Christmas was very nice even though most of us spent the time writing lesson plans for the new year ahead.

That's Nice you have enough time to enjoy Xmas and New year. This year Xmas is on Sunday so we get only one day off.

I'm retired, but when I was working all I had off was either Christmas Day Or Boxing Day. I worked with animals so they still had to be cared for and exercised. Nowadays most people (in normal jobs) don't seem to think it worth while going back to work until after New Year.

Nope. I get the 26th off because UPS doesn't run that day, but any day UPS ships, I have to work, and they don't take many days off each year.

@Happy2BeMe Thanks for asking Almost perfect except for the two days my sister's dog, my doggie niece Amber tried to eat Marty. We came home Monday night instead of staying until Thursday! Marty stayed hidden in his bed during his visit then kept me up all night chewing on his bars to get out of his cage; He kept me up until 4 am and when I woke up at 7am he was still chewing hgis vbars so I let him out and he fell sasleep in his exercise ball!

Well I used to still go to work during the holidays. We get paid double. This year is different though since I have a different job, my holidays are free!!! I'm loving it!

How nice it is for you to have 10 days off work. We don't get extra time off work for the holidays. Occasionally we will have one more extra day off work for the Chinese New Year. It is the biggest fetival here. And many people will have days off at that time and it means nothing for us to work anyway.

Yes I get next week off as our business will be mostly closed. The attorneys will be in and out of the office some as some things still have to be attended to.

I am lucky I will get five days off. One thing I would really like to do is to have a good sleep but I doubt that will happen.
