Finally, Recovery

Since I've written about this twice already, it's almost like an ongoing series. A couple nights ago, a water pipe in the storage and water heater room next to our bathroom froze and burst, flooding our bathroom. I pulled an all nighter, trying to mop every couple minutes. In doing so, I tracked a lot of water into the kitchen and dining room. Tonight, I finally finished with the aftermath. The kitchen and dining room are finally clean, mopped to my standards (I do the majority of the housecleaning, as my girlfriend has a dislocated shoulder that pops in and out.) It took me two days, but I finally got them the way I want them. And that's how I spent the majority of my day.

Oh man what a mess, thankfully we have never had our pipes freeze and burst. We have a basement so our pipes are pretty safe from freezing.

The maintenance guys had a heater in there just for that purpose. Someone stole it.

See, you were in the wrong branch of service. A sailor would have had that deck swabbed in 10 seconds! Seriously, I'm glad everything's okay, and I hope you don't have any underlying damage.

I can imagine you're hoping you've done with mopping for a while.

It is amazing how much water can come out of a burst pipe in just seconds. I'm glad you were able to get it all cleaned up. Now you can take a break and relax.

It is. I had no idea where the water was coming from. I just knew that I couldn't keep up.
