~Don't Let The Cute/Innocent Face Fool You~

Good morning! I hope your all doing well this morning. So yesterday this adorable "innocent" face got into some trouble. She loves anything peppermint and apparently couldn't resist the candy canes on our tree. She helped herself to a candy cane and in the process broke one of my ornaments! I told her she is lucky she's so darn cute!! Now we have to make sure all of the candy canes are put up higher where she cannot reach them. She is slick! Do your pets get into stuff during Christmas time?

My puppy, which I used to have around one and a half years ago, was the one who would get anything that she could get into her own mouth. I could not punish her, since she was cute too

@quantum2020 Yeah puppies are trouble but they are adorable! My dog is grown and trained-usually but she cannot resist peppermint. Lol

For some reason, this made me smile! I've never heard of dogs liking peppermint, so I enjoyed hearing about your dog. I can just picture the dog sitting there looking all cute with a candy cane hanging out of his mouth! lol

@moffittjc Lol, she LOVES peppermint! And she doesn't care about eating the wrapper along with it either. Ugh. Whenever we have peppermints here she will help herself if she can reach them.

Our cats used to climb the Christmas tree and wreaked all sorts of havoc. We invested in a spray bottle, filled it with water. It only took two squirts per cat to teach them to stay out of the tree...and they haven't even needed any yearly reminders in the last few years.

@Platespinner That's good that the cats learned after a couple squirts. Their smart!

I couldn't help but laugh. A couple days ago our Brittany pulled a cooling cake off the table and ate about 1/2 of it before we caught her.

@LovingMyBabies She enjoyed it but my wife went into panic mode because it was a milk chocolate cake mix. She called the vet and I went online to see if the dog was in any danger. The vet assured us that there is so little real chocolate in those cake mixes our dog was going to be fine. Which is what I tried to tell her, but my wife had to hear it from an expert.

@DWDavis Oh yeah chocolate is always a concern with dogs, I'm glad the vet calmed her fears. My sister's dog ate an entire bag of hershey kisses and had no issues at all! We were shocked and worried about him but he was completely fine!

That is so cute. Well, at least she got a little bit of candy cane for herself. My brother and his wife went shopping on Halloween day and came back to see that all the lollipops in the candy bowl were stuck to their dog's fur. Guess he just licked them and did not crunch 'em.

Not during Christmas, but every time I bring something new into the house. Yesterday, while on FaceTime with my son, I watched Doodles shred a new store circular and roll on a UPS box.

Pets have sometimes a way of getting what they want, although we treat them as family members, do not forget that we are also masters so we have the power to control the situation always and not the other way round

Bad cute baby. I had a cat that took a string of lights out of the window one year. My one son had made a tree out of those lights and the cat kept taking the light down so we left them out of the window after the third time.

Oh that bad girl @LovingMyBabies . lol. My cats use to climb the tree (natural instinct of course); that's why I now have a very short, 3-ft, fake tree.

@nanette64 Yeah she knew she was in trouble, head bowed down and tail between her legs. She gave me the cutest look though so I couldn't stay mad for long. Lol. They know how to work the system! Lol

Oh yes, my four kittens though our tree was real and rampaged up and down in hide and seek. Next morning the leaves were all shredded and the kittens were all rapped in blinking lights. They were lucky they were too cute too.

Awe what a mischievous but cute dog! At the moment, we have no pets. But, I do remember the dog I had as a kid, he was different in that he never bothered our tree. He never knocked an ornament off.

@Leapea2417 I know, she's too cute and that's why she got away with it! Lol. I only scolded her for a minute-then she gave me her sad puppy eyes and I couldn't be mad anymore. That's good that the dog you had didn't mess with the tree. Our other dog doesn't go near it either.
