Night time has been rough for me this pregnancy. Even when Julian allows me to get some sleep I still can't sleep. When I finally get relaxed and close my eyes to sleep my legs start jumping. I have Restless Legs Syndrome bad while pregnant. It drives me absolutely insane! Has anyone battled with RLS? Do you have any solutions that I can do while pregnant?

It could be very uncomfortable. One tip I read from the net is that you can put a new bath soap under your bedsheet to ease RLS. It said negative ions were released that help to stop RLS. I just do not know where to place it, maybe near the feet area of the bed.

My husband and I sleep with a bar of Ivory soap in our be. We use it to prevent leg cramps.

I get RLS when I am super tired. I can't lay in one position for long without having to change and never mind the fact that I have to have my leg out of the blanket and it won't stop wiggling. UGH

@LovingMyBabies I am thankful that it doesn't happen often to me. But, when it does I feel like I am going to flip out.

My former girlfriend had restless leg syndrome, and it was the worst right as she was falling asleep, or right after she would fall asleep. But sometimes, in the middle of the night. her leg would just dart out for no reason and kick me hard. She used to joke that it was just her nudging me to roll over or something, but I knew it was due to her restless leg syndrome.

@moffittjc Yeah that's when my legs start. Right as I'm about to fall asleep-it is so frustrating! Lol, mine do that too and my husband just says your legs acting out again? I just say Yup, sorry!

@LovingMyBabies You could always blame your husband...just say to him, "You were snoring really loudly, so I kicked you!" lol

Maybe using the Tommy Copper leg wraps on your legs while you sleep would help @LovingMyBabies . They are not that expensive.

I have RLS and all I can do is get up and walk around. They say to make sure you walk around before getting in bed and some times that works...or I get lucky. I know there are prescriptions for it but I don't like pills.

I have not had that pregnant or not pregnant. My husband suffers from it on occasion. He takes one of those Aleve PMs to help him sleep and that helps.

@Leapea2417 I wish I was able to take something like that but being pregnant I can't. =(

I've never been bothered by it, but what about rubbing your legs with some nice soothing lotion a little while before you go to bed. That might relax the muscles enough to let you nod off.

@Juliaacv I have tried lotion and it worked for a few minutes but then they started up again. It's so frustrating.

I have RLS and it is a pain in the neck so to speak. Do you have enough iron? Sorry, I do not have a solution, I just live with it.

@marlina I know the feeling, it is so annoying! I take my prenatal vitamins and they have iron in them.

Sounds like something you need to talk to your doc about. I don't know anyone who has or had that.

@Abbygreenhill It's common during pregnancy, I am planning on asking her about what I can do for it at my next appointment.

I assume that you had the Sleep Test for the whole night and that's when they said that you had the RLS.

My dad swore that Vlasic brad and butter pickles and pickle juice helped prevent his restless legs. Every night with supper he'd have four pickles and an ounce of pickle juice.

I get this occasionally - or at least something similar. I don't really know what to do about it. I sometimes wonder if magnesium would help.

I used to get bad leg cramps at night when I was pregnant, the only thing I can suggest is eat more bananas, I know that helps the cramps, not really sure about RLS.

Try Traditional Chinese Medicine. Lots of hard cases can be treat using Chinese Medicine.
