Some young girls started waving at the garbage men and it became a habit. They became friends at Halloween when the garbage guys left them some treats. The girls drew them some pictures. THis went on until the mother wrote the garbage guys a letter. She told them they might miss them on upcoming Thursdays because one of the girls had been diagnosed with kidney cancer and had to go to her treatment on that day. Here is the entire story:

How sad. This reminds me of my daughter when she was little I was taking her for a walk in her stroller one time and next thing I know I hear a horn look up it is a firetruck honking and they point to my daughter who is waving to them from her stroller.

How cute! My cousin and I used to always wave at the truck drivers when we were traveling somewhere and they were toot their horns to us.

@Tina30219 .....It was usually mom or my aunt driving and they never minded us getting them to honk We had reason one time to glad we had befriended a trucker. My aunt was driving and hit a deer on the highway. She was shook up and a trucker stopped and helped us. Ran her in town and found a mechanic and made sure we were all set up before he took off.

It is nice to see caring for others going on, seems like many are focused on themselves.
