It's 5:30pm, December 30th, which means the AdAmAn Club should be getting ready to settle in for the night at Barr Camp, about halfway up Pikes Peak. Tomorrow, 30 mountaineers and guests will finish the climb to the summit of the mountain, where, at midnight, they will set off their spectacular annual fireworks show. It's a tradition that started with just five climbers back in 1922. Each year, one person is added to the club (get it? AdAmAn?) Manitou Springs sits at the foot of Pikes Peak, so we get a prime view of the show. If we go to the bar, all we have to do is go out on the sidewalk, and there they are, right in front of us. If we stay home, we can see them from right outside our apartment door. We're leaning toward going to the bar at this point, but either way, we're doing Tuaca shots after the fireworks are finished! Happy New Year!

That sounds like a really amazing view if you're the mountain climbers. I wonder if you can see the fireworks in town?

It is. You can see them just fine in Colorado Springs, but here they are right there, if you know what I mean.
